Tara Puritan - Triple Threat, TRX
Tara Purinton is an Incline resident who thrives on being active in the outdoors with her husband Chase and dog Hailey. Her passion for teaching began as a children's ski instructor for Alta Ski Resort. After completing her Masters in Teaching at Sierra Nevada College she became a teacher for the Carson City School District. Her love of exercise is apparent with her enthusiasm for group fitness at High Altitude Fitness where she prepares members for the endurance and strength activities Lake Tahoe has to offer. She is also an avid marathon runner and placed 1st in her age group for the Lake Tahoe Marathon. In addition to running; Tara climbs, mountain bikes, skis and enjoys camping out. Her love for exercise and high energy levels are what makes her aerobic workout classes a hit. Certified in Group Fitness Instruction AFFA, Bosu and TRX.
Katie Lazzari - Personal Trainer, Cycling, TRX, Insanity
Katie is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, specializing in TRX and Indoor Cycling. Born and raised in South Carolina Katie grew up skiing in Winter Park, Colorado where her love of the mountains and outdoors began. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a BA in Corporate Communications she headed west and landed in Lake Tahoe. Katie currently resides in Kings Beach and enjoys any activity that allows her to be in nature. After being diagnosed with a chronic disease at a young age, Katie chose to take control of her illness through exercise and healthy eating. She began promoting her passion for health and wellness and her fitness career was born. Katie is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She also holds AFFA Primary Group Fitness certification, Schwinn Cycling, Maddog Spinning, Insanity, TRX Suspension Training, and BOSU. Always encouraging new participants, Katie believes it’s never too early or too late to works towards being the healthiest you. Think positively. Exercise daily. Eat healthy. Work hard. Stay strong. Build faith. Worry less. Be happy and live grateful.

Sandy has a passion for life and fitness and just plain FUN! Sandy loves to motivate others and her enthusiasm for fitness is infections and what attracts people to her. Fitness is a lifestyle and can be fun every step of the way, let her show you how to attain this. Sandy enjoys being creative, developing and implementing new programs and fitness incentives. Nicole Lanvin - Cycling, Barre Burn
Nicole has been passionately immersed in the nutrition, fitness, and wellness industries for the past twenty years. She began her career as the hostess and co-producer of the vegetarian cooking show, “Cooking, Naturally”. She later worked at the Pritikin Longevity Center as an Exercise Physiologist. She has a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, has done graduate work in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University, and has a Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. She has been a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor for twenty two years and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also holds certifications in Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and Health Coaching. Nationally and in California, she leads workshops based on her book, Think, Act, Be Fit and Thin, Roadmap to the Body You Deserve.
Kristen Ferrall - Cycling
Kristen has been teaching Spin at High Altitude Fitness since 2005. She came to Lake Tahoe in 1992 to go to Sierra Nevada College and never looked back. She fell in love with Tahoe life the minute she put her suitcase down. Kristen is an avid trail runner and skier. She hops on her road bike and mountain bike whenever she gets a chance. To her, it’s more than a physical workout – she calls it “superfood for the soul” when she can disappear on a mountain trail run and enjoy the clear Sierra air. Kristen has a very active family who keeps her on her toes and super busy. In her words, “I’d have it no other way.” She became a television host on Lake Tahoe Television’s Tahoe Today show in 1997 and still hosts the show to this day. Kristen loves this community and feels it’s important for her family to be involved and contribute to its family feel. They are active Bear League Volunteers, and are always helping with community events.
Kristen’s classes are more than just a physical workout. She motivates and encourages the soul in every Cycling Class she teaches.
The active Tahoe lifestyle requires being fit and having a great attitude. Kristen never wastes a day, ever.
Hank Echter - Hatha Yoga
Hank first began practicing yoga in 1993, following a series of injuries that included back and knee surgery. Yoga became a tool to regain health and function. As yoga became more of a passion, Hank began teaching in 2000.
Hank’s yoga background is multi style with an emphasis on Hatha yoga. Hank enjoys teaching all levels from first time beginners to advanced students.
Yoga Alliance registered teacher since 2004.
Star Ricakrd - Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga
Star has been teaching yoga for over a decade.
She came across yoga in her teens while training for marathons and attending a gym.
While working at Trader Joe’s in her later teens she decided to pursue a career in fitness. She attended her first 200hr Teacher Training at Yoga Tropics in Encinitas Ca, in 2006.
Shortly after she began teaching at Studios, gyms, resorts, and spa’s all over the Palm Springs areas. In addition to teaching she ran a successful Cleaning business.
Star completed another 200hr Teacher training in Core Power in 2014.
She recently relocated to the Tahoe area. And is enjoying the outdoorsy mountain living.
Coral Dunbar - Heated Yoga Flow, Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga
Coral Dunbar first fell in love with yoga when she attended classes with her mom in high school, mainly to help with soreness and injuries from soccer. Ever since then, she has loved all types of yoga, from heated vinyasa to restorative classes. In 2016 she finished up her yoga teacher training and has been teaching private and group classes since then. Coral is also an NASM certified women's fitness specialist and teaches prenatal and postpartum exercise classes.
Marisa Espinoza - Kundalini Yoga
Marisa Espinoza is both passionate and dedicated to living a life of wellness. She has been a practitioner of yoga for 14 years since the age of 18, and became introduced to Kundalini Yoga in 2010. It was at first an intriguing practice, different than other yoga styles, then later became an impetus of transformation in her life. She began teaching Kundalini Yoga because of its powerful quality of inner and outer transformation. Her "goal" is to create a space where any person can access their potential through Kundalini Yoga, and create positive change in their life. She introduces this ancient yogic practice in a fun, approachable, and heartfelt way.
Helen Mino Faukner - Yoga for Climbers, Vinyasa Yoga
I first started practicing yoga in 2011 to help prevent running injuries, and I quickly fell in love with it. I did my yoga teacher training in 2015 with Mark Stephens at Santa Cruz Yoga and started teaching in Reno, Nevada shortly after. I have taught a variety of class types such as aerial and restorative, but vinyasa flow has always been my favorite to both practice and teach. I believe yoga not only has the power to transform us physically but mentally and spiritually as well.
Lauren Robinson - Twists and Inversions Saturday Yoga
In 2006, Lauren began practicing yoga and realized the wonderful benefits it has to offer. During her 200-hour Hatha yoga training at Yoga Hanalei in Kauai, HI she fell in love with the island and the inner flame that practicing yoga was stoking. Lauren wants to share her enthusiasm for creating a quite mind and a strong body.
