Tara Puritan - Triple Threat, TRX
Tara Purinton is an Incline resident who thrives on being active in the outdoors with her husband Chase and dog Hailey. Her passion for teaching began as a children's ski instructor for Alta Ski Resort. After completing her Masters in Teaching at Sierra Nevada College she became a teacher for the Carson City School District. Her love of exercise is apparent with her enthusiasm for group fitness at High Altitude Fitness where she prepares members for the endurance and strength activities Lake Tahoe has to offer. She is also an avid marathon runner and placed 1st in her age group for the Lake Tahoe Marathon. In addition to running; Tara climbs, mountain bikes, skis and enjoys camping out. Her love for exercise and high energy levels are what makes her aerobic workout classes a hit. Certified in Group Fitness Instruction AFFA, Bosu and TRX.
Katie Lazzari - Personal Trainer, Cycling, TRX, Insanity
Katie is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, specializing in TRX and Indoor Cycling. Born and raised in South Carolina Katie grew up skiing in Winter Park, Colorado where her love of the mountains and outdoors began. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a BA in Corporate Communications she headed west and landed in Lake Tahoe. Katie currently resides in Kings Beach and enjoys any activity that allows her to be in nature. After being diagnosed with a chronic disease at a young age, Katie chose to take control of her illness through exercise and healthy eating. She began promoting her passion for health and wellness and her fitness career was born. Katie is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She also holds AFFA Primary Group Fitness certification, Schwinn Cycling, Maddog Spinning, Insanity, TRX Suspension Training, and BOSU. Always encouraging new participants, Katie believes it’s never too early or too late to works towards being the healthiest you. Think positively. Exercise daily. Eat healthy. Work hard. Stay strong. Lisa Masser - Restorative and Power Yoga
Initially drawn to yoga to help balance her athletic lifestyle and photography career, Lisa believes movement is pure, artistic expression of the deepest parts of our soul, as well as a method to find our way to a greater source within. Lisa organically blends her east coast roots of a powerful, heartfelt vinyasa flow with her west coast flare and deeper understanding of yoga. Lisa continues to be astounded by the magnitude of yoga, and feels her yoga journey has only just begun, remaining open to its continued evolution. The broad horizon of her experience infuses her classes with fun, laughter, and a sense that one can achieve anything. On the mat and paddle-board, Lisa is devoted to maintaining a playful spirit, sweet sweat, and a smile towards progression. She also delivers a soothing experience in Yin or Restorative classes. Blending the breath with meditation you will leave renewed and ready for anything. She lives by the words: “in teaching and learning, there is no perfection, only practice.”

Fitness is a lifestyle and can be fun every step of the way, let her show you how to attain this. Sandy enjoys being creative, developing and implementing new programs and fitness incentives. Nicole Lanvin - Cycling, Barre Burn
Nicole has been passionately immersed in the nutrition, fitness, and wellness industries for the past twenty years. She began her career as the hostess and co-producer of the vegetarian cooking show, “Cooking, Naturally”. She later worked at the Pritikin Longevity Center as an Exercise Physiologist. She has a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, has done graduate work in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University, and has a Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. She has been a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor for twenty two years and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also holds certifications in Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and Health Coaching. Nationally and in California, she leads workshops based on her book, Think, Act, Be Fit and Thin, Roadmap to the Body You Deserve.

Christina received her 200 credited hour yoga certification in 2008 from the International Sivananda Centre in Val Morin Canada and a 14 credited hour yoga certification in 2011 from Street Yoga in Portland, Oregon for Youth Trauma-Informed. She has been teaching since 2009 and has enjoyed helping students grow with their practice. She has taught classes that primarily focus on Deep Stretch and Relaxation, Core Empowerment, Senior Chair and Trauma Informed Healing. She actively supports communities and in the past has established a Girl's Youth Yoga Program for Tree Street in Lewiston, ME, teamed up with Restore Yoga and the YWCA to teach Victims and Survivors of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence in Brooklyn, NY and offered Donation Based Yoga to Seniors in Gardnerville, NV.

Abby Seplowitz - Vinyasa Yoga
Abby is an absolute lover of the outdoors. After studying communications at Arizona State University, she moved to Maui to start a career in the golf industry. Her yoga practice developed while living on the island, falling in love with the teachings and taking her practice outdoors as much as possible. She loves to hike, slack line, climb, golf, paddle, among many other activities, and apply yoga technique and learnings to everything and anything both on and off the mat. Yoga quickly went from hobby to passion and she discovered she wanted to to share this love with the world. Abby completed her 200hr RYT training on Big Island, and also holds certifications in golf specific training. She loves learning and teaching biomechanics of the body while focusing on the kinematic sequence of each sport and how that can enhance athletic performance. It is Abby’s goal to share her combined passions, while exploring everything this beautiful life has to offer.
Sarah Hannala - Align and Flow, Bhakti Flow
I, Sarah Hannala, am an International, Experienced Yoga Instructor, certified with Yoga Alliance. I have studied with Shaleah Morris of Studio Tahoe, as well as Sivananda Yoga, while living at the ashram on Paradise Island, Bahamas. It was at the ashram that I was initiated into my spiritual name "Jnaneshwari"; translating to Goddess of Knowledge.
I started practicing yoga in 2010, when I moved cross country from Florida to California. While struggling with bi-polar disorder, anxiety and depression, a family friend introduced Yoga as an outlet. I began to see the effects almost immediately and was instantly addicted. I committed myself to a daily practice of Yoga and Meditation, and was so dedicated to learn more, I took Yoga as my physical education class in High School, while also studying many books and scriptures.
After a few years, I was introduced to the practice of Kirtan (chanting) and devoted my life to the path of Bhakti Yoga; the path of love and devotion. My life has continuously transformed after I began to devote my life to love and the service of others. I strongly believe in the transformational power of love and devotion, and it has become a staple of my teaching style.
am an advocate for mental/chronic illnesses and I promote Yoga and meditation as a guide for stabilizing health and wellness, physically, mentally and spiritually. With an innate ability to read energy, I utilize my knowledge and skills to address each student’s individual needs in my classes.
My unique lineage influences a lifestyle of Seva (service), Bhakti (Devotional Love), Jnana (Spiritual Knowledge), Radical Self Expression, Health and Wellness, Sustainability and Spiritual Healing.

Janet is an avid indoor and outdoor cyclist and has ridden many thousands of miles on her trusty Trek. She comes from a teaching background, most recently as an elementary school science teacher in the Bay Area. She has helped hundreds of new riders improve their knowledge and capability on the bike, and finds that cycling can be a pathway to personal power and confidence in addition to great fitness. Her style is authentic to the outdoor experience, but strictly indoor riders will also love the motivating skills and drills they learn in class.
Janet believes in the power of exercise to improve every aspect of life, from sleep habits and weight management to mood and stress relief. She knows first-hand the joy that can come from achieving a difficult goal and loves to share that with members as they work toward their own successes.d
Star Ricakrd - Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga
Star has been teaching yoga for over a decade.
She came across yoga in her teens while training for marathons and attending a gym.
While working at Trader Joe’s in her later teens she decided to pursue a career in fitness. She attended her first 200hr Teacher Training at Yoga Tropics in Encinitas Ca, in 2006.
Shortly after she began teaching at Studios, gyms, resorts, and spa’s all over the Palm Springs areas. In addition to teaching she ran a successful Cleaning business.
Star completed another 200hr Teacher training in Core Power in 2014.
She recently relocated to the Tahoe area. And is enjoying the outdoorsy mountain living.
Sue Jenkins - Cardio Strength & Core
I am originally from UK but was born in Kuwait. My mum was Nepalese and my dad English, but I lived in the Middle East as a kid. I’ve spent most of my life in London (25 years), and it definitely has a special place in my heart!
I loved ballet from a very early age (5) and have done a lot of ballet and contemporary dance. In the 80s and 90s I was an aerobics fiend, (YMCA Group Fitness Certification) and particularly loved step aerobics going to weekend conventions around the UK just dedicated to step!!!
I have lived in Tahoe since Thanksgiving 2013. I taught fitness after my two children Dillon and Millie were born. They are both at Incline High, a Junior and Freshman). Here in Tahoe I teach cardio strength, toning, flex core and ballet barre, aqua, circuit/ Hiit training, 55+ fitness and Zumba.
My other passions (apart from fitness and my family) are movies, crime novels, travel, birds, short hikes and tennis. I play in a USTA ladies tennis team in Reno.
Srdjan Soc - HIIT Cycle
Srdjan has been High Altitude member since 2014, and has just recently joined our coaching team. He has been teaching Crossfit since 2013 and also has background in Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Powerlifting. Teaching methodology that he utilizes, presents fitness as: constantly varied, functional and challenging way of investing in your health.
